These 2-Ingredient Apple Pie Cups are a quick and delightful dessert perfect for any occasion. Using refrigerated cinnamon roll dough and apple pie filling, these cups bake to golden perfection and are finished with a sweet buttery cream icing drizzle. They combine the comforting flavors of apple pie with the ease and convenience of pre-made ingredients, making a warm, aromatic treat in just 35 minutes.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 can (13 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Flaky Cinnamon Rolls with Butter Cream Icing (8 Count)

Filling

  • 1 1/3 cups apple pie filling (from 21-oz can), coarsely chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare Oven and Muffin Tin: Preheat the oven to 375°F. Spray 8 regular-size muffin cups with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Set the icing from the cinnamon roll can aside for later use.
  2. Line Muffin Cups with Dough: Separate the dough into 8 individual rolls. Press each roll into the bottom and up the sides of each prepared muffin cup, creating a dough-lined cup ready to hold the filling.
  3. Fill Cups with Apple Pie Filling: Spoon 2 generous tablespoons of the chopped apple pie filling into each dough-lined muffin cup, distributing the filling evenly.
  4. Bake the Cups: Place the muffin tin in the oven and bake for 15 to 19 minutes or until the dough turns golden brown. After baking, allow the cups to cool in the pan for 5 minutes to set.
  5. Prepare and Drizzle Icing: Transfer the reserved icing to a small microwavable bowl. Microwave uncovered on Low (10% power) for 8 to 10 seconds or until the icing thins enough to drizzle smoothly. Remove the cups from the muffin tin, place them on a serving board, then drizzle the thinned icing over each warm apple pie cup. Serve immediately for best taste.

Notes

  • Use refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing included for ease, but you can substitute with plain cinnamon roll dough and prepare your own icing if desired.
  • Chop the apple pie filling to help it fit better inside the dough cups and bake evenly.
  • Microwaving the icing helps achieve the perfect drizzle consistency without making it too runny.
  • Serve warm to enjoy the best flavor and texture experience.
  • You can add a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg to the filling for extra spice if preferred.
