This Air Fryer Broccolini recipe offers a quick and easy way to enjoy tender, crispy broccolini with a flavorful touch of garlic, olive oil, and optional red chili flakes. Perfect as a healthy side dish, it is finished with fresh lemon juice and parmesan for a bright, savory kick.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch broccolini (approximately 8 ounces)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • ½ tsp salt (plus more to taste)
  • ½ tsp fresh black pepper
  • ½ tsp red chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 lemon, for serving
  • Freshly grated parmesan, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 370°F (188°C) and lightly grease the basket with a non-stick olive oil spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Broccolini: Rinse the broccolini thoroughly under cold water, then pat dry with paper towels. Trim and discard the tough ends of the stalks to ensure even cooking.
  3. Toss with Seasoning: In a mixing bowl, combine the broccolini with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. If you like a bit of heat, add the optional red chili flakes and toss until all pieces are evenly coated.
  4. Arrange for Air Frying: Spread the broccolini in a single layer inside the preheated air fryer basket. Avoid overlapping the stalks to allow them to crisp up properly.
  5. Air Fry: Cook at 370°F for 6 to 7 minutes. At the 6-minute mark, check tenderness by piercing with a fork; if needed, air fry for up to 2 additional minutes until broccolini is tender and crispy.
  6. Serve: Remove from the air fryer immediately. Serve with a fresh squeeze of lemon juice and a generous sprinkle of freshly grated parmesan cheese. Enjoy while hot!

Notes

  • If you prefer less garlic flavor, reduce the minced garlic to half a clove.
  • Red chili flakes are optional but add a nice spicy kick.
  • Cooking times may vary slightly depending on your air fryer model; always check doneness early to avoid burning.
  • For a dairy-free option, omit the parmesan or substitute with a vegan cheese alternative.
  • Ensure broccolini is dry before tossing with oil to achieve maximum crispiness.
