Ingredients

Beef and Seasoning

  • 1 lb. ground beef (85/15 for the juiciest)
  • 2 teaspoons burger seasoning (1 teaspoon per side)

Toppings

  • Shredded lettuce, as desired
  • Diced tomatoes, as desired
  • Diced burger pickles, as desired

Ranch Fries

  • 1 22-ounce bag frozen waffle fries
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1-ounce packet ranch seasoning mix (or 3 tablespoons)

House Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon horseradish
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 clove garlic, grated

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ranch Fries: Bake the frozen waffle fries according to the package directions. Once baked, add 3 tablespoons of butter directly to the hot sheet pan and toss the fries to coat them evenly, adding moisture and richness. Immediately sprinkle the fries with ranch seasoning mix, adjusting the quantity to your preferred ranch flavor level, and toss again carefully to ensure they're evenly coated.
  2. Make the House Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons ketchup, 1 teaspoon horseradish, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon paprika, and 1 grated garlic clove until smooth. Taste the sauce and season with salt as needed. Alternatively, you can substitute a store-bought burger sauce if preferred.
  3. Cook the Ground Beef: Heat a well-seasoned cast iron skillet over high heat with no oil until very hot to ensure a good sear. Season one side of the ground beef with 1 teaspoon of burger seasoning. Place the beef in the skillet seasoned side down and leave it undisturbed for several minutes to develop a nice browned crust as the fat renders.
  4. Finish the Beef: Sprinkle the remaining 1 teaspoon of burger seasoning onto the exposed side of the beef. After a few minutes, flip the beef and begin breaking it up into fork-sized crumbles, ensuring the pieces remain sizable and juicy. Continue cooking and browning the beef until fully cooked and browned, then remove from heat.
  5. Assemble the Burger Bowls: Divide the browned beef crumbles among four bowls. Add a generous portion of ranch fries to each bowl. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and diced burger pickles to your liking. Drizzle the house sauce over the top or serve on the side for dipping. Enjoy your flavorful burger bowls immediately.

Notes

  • Use 85/15 ground beef for the best balance of juiciness and flavor.
  • A well-seasoned cast iron skillet is ideal for searing the beef without added oil.
  • Adjust ranch seasoning on fries to taste—add more for stronger flavor.
  • The house sauce can be customized by increasing horseradish for more kick or paprika for additional smokiness.
  • For a lower fat option, substitute mayonnaise with a lighter alternative.
  • Serve immediately after assembly to maintain crispiness of the fries.
