4.1 from 1 review

Campfire Banana Boats are a fun and easy-to-make outdoor dessert featuring a warm, gooey combination of melted chocolate, mini marshmallows, and a sweet banana nestled inside its peel. Perfect for camping trips or backyard cookouts, this treat is wrapped in foil and cooked over a campfire or grill for a delightful melty finish.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • 2 tablespoons milk chocolate (chopped from bar or chocolate chips)
  • 8 mini marshmallows
  • 1 graham cracker square

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Banana: Take a banana with its peel still on and carefully cut it lengthwise down the concave side without cutting through the peel completely. This creates a pocket inside the banana.
  2. Stuff the Banana: Pull the peel and banana slightly apart and stuff the pocket with 2 tablespoons of chopped milk chocolate and 8 mini marshmallows or your preferred fillings.
  3. Wrap and Cook: Wrap the stuffed banana tightly in aluminum foil. Place the foil packet on a campfire grate or grill and cook for about 10 minutes, until the chocolate and marshmallows have melted and the banana is warmed through.
  4. Serve: Carefully unwrap the banana, sprinkle the top with crushed graham cracker square for a crunchy finish, and enjoy your warm, gooey dessert.

Notes

  • You can substitute milk chocolate with dark or white chocolate depending on preference.
  • Other fillings such as peanut butter, nuts, or caramel chips can be added for variety.
  • Make sure the foil is sealed tightly to avoid leakage during cooking.
  • If using a grill or campfire, keep the heat moderate to avoid burning the banana or foil.
