This Fantasy Fudge recipe delivers a rich, creamy chocolate treat with a luscious, silky texture. Made with dark chocolate, butter, sugar, and marshmallow fluff, this fudge is perfectly sweet and indulgent. It’s easy to prepare on the stovetop and requires no special equipment, perfect for satisfying your chocolate cravings with a delightful homemade touch.

Ingredients

Fudge Ingredients

  • 1 ½ sticks butter (about 12 tablespoons or 170g)
  • 3 cups sugar (600g)
  • ⅔ cup evaporated milk (160ml)
  • 12 oz 70% dark chocolate, chopped (340g)
  • 7 oz marshmallow fluff or Jet-Puffed marshmallow creme (198g)
  • ½ tablespoon vanilla extract (7.5ml)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Line a 9x9 inch pan with a double layer of food wrap or plastic wrap and set aside. This will help you lift out the fudge later easily.
  2. Combine Butter, Sugar and Milk: Place the butter, sugar, and evaporated milk into a large, heavy-bottomed saucepan or casserole dish. Heat over medium-high heat, stirring continuously until the butter melts and the sugar begins to dissolve.
  3. Cook to Soft Ball Stage: Continue heating the mixture while stirring constantly to prevent burning. Use a candy thermometer and cook until the mixture reaches the soft ball stage at 234°F (112°C). This step is crucial to achieve the correct fudge texture.
  4. Add Chocolate: Remove the pan from the heat. Stir in the chopped dark chocolate until fully melted, creating a smooth chocolate base.
  5. Mix Marshmallow Fluff and Vanilla: Stir in the marshmallow fluff and vanilla extract thoroughly until no streaks remain, making the fudge silky and creamy.
  6. Pour and Set: Using a heatproof spatula, scrape the fudge mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly with a smooth top. Don’t worry if you see a melted butter layer on top; it will dissipate as the fudge cools.
  7. Cool Completely: Allow the fudge to cool entirely at room temperature. Once set, slice into pieces and serve.

Notes

  • Use a candy thermometer to get precise temperature for perfect fudge texture.
  • Chopping the chocolate finely helps it melt uniformly and faster.
  • Ensure constant stirring during heating to avoid burning the sugar and butter.
  • Allowing the fudge to cool completely before slicing is essential for clean cuts.
  • You can store fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
  • If desired, add nuts or flavor extracts like almond to customize.
