These Grinch Oreo Balls with Red Velvet Oreos are a festive and delicious no-bake treat perfect for holiday celebrations or any fun occasion. Made by combining Red Velvet Oreo crumbs with cream cheese to form bite-sized truffles, then dipped in vibrant green candy melts and decorated with red heart sprinkles, these sweet snacks are both eye-catching and irresistibly creamy.

Ingredients

Truffle Base

  • 1 package Red Velvet Oreos (22 cookies)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened

Coating and Decoration

  • 7 oz green candy melts
  • Red heart sprinkles
  • 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil or any unflavored oil (optional, to thin candy melts)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the baking sheet: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside to keep the truffles from sticking later.
  2. Make the Oreo dough: Place the Red Velvet Oreos in a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form. Add the softened cream cheese and pulse again until a soft, cohesive dough forms.
  3. Form truffle balls: Using a 1 tablespoon measuring spoon, scoop out portions of the dough. Roll each portion between the palms of your hands into smooth balls and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat until all dough is used. Chill the balls in the freezer for 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. Melt the candy coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the green candy melts in 30-second increments, stirring between each, until smooth. If the candy melts are too thick for dipping, stir in 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil or unflavored oil to thin the mixture.
  5. Dip the truffles: Using a chocolate dipping fork or similar tool, dip each chilled truffle ball evenly into the melted candy, ensuring full coverage. Place the coated truffles back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Decorate: Transfer any leftover melted candy melts into a piping bag and drizzle it over the truffles. Immediately place a red heart sprinkle on top of each to create the signature Grinch heart decoration.
  7. Set and serve: Refrigerate the decorated truffles for a few minutes to allow the coating to set completely. Once set, enjoy your festive Grinch Oreo Balls!

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easier mixing.
  • Chilling the Oreo balls before dipping helps them keep their shape and prevents cracks in the candy coating.
  • If you don't have a chocolate dipping fork, a fork or spoon can be used to dip, just tap off excess coating gently.
  • Store these truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • To make the candy melts easier to work with, avoid overheating as this can cause them to seize.
