Ingredients

Slider Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 6 slices American cheese
  • 1/2 cup white onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 5 oz shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1/2 cup sliced dill pickles

Big Mac Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 3 tbsp pickled relish
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef seasoned with salt and pepper until fully browned and cooked through, about 10 minutes. Drain any excess fat if necessary. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare Slider Buns and Layer: Slice the connected Hawaiian rolls horizontally, separating the top halves from the bottoms. Arrange the bottom halves on the baking sheet. Layer each bottom with a slice of American cheese, followed by the cooked beef and diced onions.
  3. Assemble and Toast Sliders: Place the top halves of the rolls back in place on each slider. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds evenly over them. Bake the sliders in the preheated oven for 12 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  4. Make the Sauce: While the sliders bake, in a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, pickled relish, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika. Stir well to create the signature Big Mac sauce.
  5. Finish the Sliders: Remove the sliders from the oven and carefully lift off each top bun. Add shredded iceberg lettuce over the beef and cheese layer. Drizzle the prepared Big Mac sauce evenly over the lettuce, then place two dill pickle slices on each slider. Replace the tops and slice to serve immediately.

Notes

  • Be sure not to overcook the beef to keep sliders juicy.
  • Using Hawaiian rolls adds a sweet, soft texture reminiscent of Big Mac buns.
  • If preferred, pickles can be swapped for bread-and-butter or other sweet pickles.
  • For a spicier sauce, a pinch of cayenne pepper or hot sauce can be added.
  • Sliders can be assembled ahead of time and baked just before serving.
