Ingredients

Frozen Yogurt Base

  • 1 ⅔ cups (13 fl oz/400 ml) heavy whipping cream
  • ⅔ cup (5 oz/142 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 ¾ cup (14 oz/395 g) unsweetened Greek yogurt

Plain Frozen Yogurt

  • 8 frozen yogurt cubes (from the base)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened yogurt

Chocolate Frozen Yogurt

  • 8 frozen yogurt cubes (from the base)
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Strawberry Frozen Yogurt

  • 8 frozen yogurt cubes (from the base)
  • 2 large (or 3 small) fresh strawberries

Instructions

  1. Make the Frozen Yogurt Base: Place the heavy cream and granulated sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Dissolve the Sugar: Cook, stirring constantly, until the sugar has completely dissolved, about 5 minutes.
  3. Cool the Mixture: Pour the mixture into a medium heat-proof jug with a pour spout and let it cool for 10 minutes.
  4. Add Yogurt: Stir the Greek yogurt into the cooled cream and sugar mixture until smooth.
  5. Freeze into Cubes: Pour the mixture into 2 ice cube trays and freeze for at least 4 hours or up to 4 weeks.
  6. Make Plain Frozen Yogurt: Place 8 frozen yogurt cubes and 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt into a food processor. Process until it reaches a soft serve consistency, scraping down the sides as needed.
  7. Serve or Freeze Plain: Enjoy immediately for soft serve texture or freeze for no longer than 1 hour to maintain softness.
  8. Make Chocolate Frozen Yogurt: Place 8 frozen yogurt cubes, 1 tablespoon cocoa powder, and 1 tablespoon milk in a food processor. Process until smooth and soft serve-like, scraping down sides if needed.
  9. Serve or Freeze Chocolate: Enjoy immediately or freeze for up to 1 hour for best soft serve texture.
  10. Make Strawberry Frozen Yogurt: Add 8 frozen yogurt cubes and 2 or 3 fresh strawberries into a food processor. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the bowl as necessary.
  11. Serve or Freeze Strawberry: Enjoy right away or freeze no longer than 1 hour for ideal texture.

Notes

  • For the best texture, consume the soft serve frozen yogurt immediately or within 1 hour of freezing.
  • Use unsweetened Greek yogurt to control the sweetness and maintain a tangy flavor.
  • The frozen yogurt base cubes can be stored in the freezer for up to 4 weeks, making it easy to prepare soft serve anytime.
  • Adjust the amount of cocoa powder or strawberries to suit your taste preferences when making the flavored versions.
  • If the soft serve is too hard after freezing, let it sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before serving.
