Ingredients

Iced Matcha Latte

  • 1 teaspoon culinary matcha powder
  • ¼ cup hot water
  • 1-2 teaspoons sweetener (regular sugar, stevia, agave, honey, etc., adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • Ice

Strawberry Foam (Blender Method)

  • 3 strawberries (rinsed, dried, stems and leaves removed)
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-2 teaspoons sweetener (adjust to taste)

Strawberry Foam (No Blender Method with Jam)

  • 1-2 tablespoons strawberry jam (homemade or storebought, adjust to taste)
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the matcha mixture: In a matcha bowl or medium bowl, sift in 1 teaspoon culinary matcha powder and pour ¼ cup hot water over it.
  2. Whisk matcha: Use a bamboo whisk in 'M' and 'W' motions to whisk the matcha and water until the mixture is smooth, lump-free, and frothy. Stir in 1-2 teaspoons sweetener to taste.
  3. Assemble matcha latte: Fill a mug with ice and pour in 1 cup milk. Top off with the prepared matcha mixture.
  4. Prepare strawberry foam (blender method): In a small blender, combine 3 cleaned strawberries, 3 tablespoons heavy cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1-2 teaspoons sweetener. Blend until the mixture is smooth, soft, voluminous, and creamy. Adjust sweetness if needed.
  5. Prepare strawberry foam (no blender method with jam): In a mason jar, combine 1-2 tablespoons strawberry jam, 3 tablespoons heavy cream, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Close the jar and shake vigorously for 2-3 minutes until thick and creamy. Alternatively, use a frother. Taste and add more jam or sweetener to preference.
  6. Top the latte: Spoon the strawberry cold foam over the iced matcha latte.
  7. Enjoy: Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing and creamy iced strawberry matcha latte.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free version, use plant-based milk and coconut cream instead of heavy cream.
  • Adjust sweetener according to your taste and dietary preferences.
  • The blender method yields a smoother, creamier strawberry foam; the jam method provides a quicker alternative without blender use.
  • Ensure matcha powder is culinary grade for best flavor in lattes.
  • This recipe serves one but can be scaled up easily.
