This Maple Pecan Cream Pie is a luscious dessert featuring a flaky pie crust filled with a smooth, creamy maple-flavored filling studded with toasted pecans. Finished with whipped maple cream and extra pecans on top, it's a perfect sweet treat for special occasions or cozy gatherings.

Ingredients

For the Pie Crust

  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust

For the Whipped Maple Cream

  • 1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon maple extract
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar

For the Filling

  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • ½ cup pure maple syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups finely chopped toasted pecans, divided

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pie Crust: Poke holes all over the bottom of the pie crust to prevent bubbling during baking, then bake it according to the package or recipe instructions until golden and cooked through. Let it cool completely before adding the filling.
  2. Make the Whipped Maple Cream: In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat together the heavy whipping cream, maple extract, and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Set this whipped cream aside for later use.
  3. Prepare the Filling: In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, light brown sugar, pure maple syrup, and salt until smooth and fully combined. Then, gently fold half of the whipped maple cream into this mixture until it is well blended.
  4. Add Pecans to Filling: Mix in 1 cup of the finely chopped toasted pecans to the cream cheese mixture to add texture and flavor.
  5. Assemble the Pie: Spread the filling evenly into the bottom of the cooled pie crust. Cover and refrigerate the pie for at least 8 hours or overnight to allow it to set properly.
  6. Finish and Serve: When ready to serve, spread the remaining whipped maple cream evenly over the top of the pie. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of toasted pecans decoratively over the whipped cream. Cut into slices and enjoy your rich, creamy maple pecan pie.

Notes

  • Make sure the pie crust is fully cooled before adding the filling to prevent it from becoming soggy.
  • To toast pecans, heat them in a single layer in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently until fragrant and golden.
  • Use pure maple syrup and maple extract for the best authentic maple flavor.
  • Chilling the pie for at least 8 hours is crucial for the filling to set and make slicing easier.
  • If you prefer a sweeter or more maple-forward taste, adjust the amount of maple syrup and extract accordingly.
