A cozy and flavorful Pumpkin Spice Latte made with warm milk infused with pumpkin puree and classic fall spices, combined with hot brewed coffee and a touch of cream for a creamy, comforting beverage perfect for chilly days.

Ingredients

Pumpkin Milk Mixture

  • ½ cup milk (nonfat, whole, almond, soy, etc.)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

Coffee and Cream

  • 1 cup brewed coffee or espresso
  • 2 tablespoons half and half cream
  • 2 teaspoons granulated white sugar

Optional Toppings

  • Whipped cream
  • Nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pumpkin Milk: In a glass measuring cup or microwave-safe bowl, whisk together milk, pumpkin puree, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice until well combined.
  2. Heat Milk Mixture: Microwave the mixture for 1 to 2 minutes, watching carefully and removing it once the milk is hot and frothy. Alternatively, heat it gently on the stovetop over medium heat, stirring occasionally to combine and avoid scorching.
  3. Combine Coffee and Milk: Pour the hot pumpkin milk into a tall mug or glass. Add 1 cup of hot brewed coffee or espresso.
  4. Add Cream and Sweetener: Stir in 2 tablespoons of half and half cream and 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar. Taste and add the remaining teaspoon of sugar if desired, stirring well to mix.
  5. Add Toppings and Serve: Optionally, top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of nutmeg for added flavor and garnish. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • You can customize the milk choice to dairy or plant-based alternatives depending on your preference or dietary needs.
  • Adjust the sugar amount based on your sweetness preference.
  • For a stronger coffee flavor, use espresso instead of brewed coffee.
  • Warm the coffee before adding to keep the latte hot longer.
  • Adding whipped cream and nutmeg enhances the autumnal aroma and presentation but is optional.
