A quick and refreshing Simple Apple Tuna Salad featuring crisp apples, crunchy celery, and tender tuna tossed in a creamy dill mustard mayonnaise dressing. Perfect for a light lunch or easy snack in just 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Salad Dressing

  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon deli mustard

Salad Components

  • 1 cup chopped apple (about 1 small apple)
  • ½ cup chopped celery (about 2 stalks)
  • ¼ cup finely chopped red onion (about ¼ of an onion)
  • 9 ounces cooked tuna fish
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare Apples: Add the apple cider vinegar to a small bowl, then add the chopped apples and toss to combine. Set aside to allow apples to lightly marinate.
  2. Make Dressing: In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise and deli mustard. Stir well until fully incorporated to create a creamy dressing.
  3. Add Vegetables: Add the chopped celery and finely chopped red onion to the bowl with the dressing. Mix gently to coat the vegetables evenly.
  4. Combine Salad: Add the marinated apples and cooked tuna to the bowl. Gently toss all ingredients together until well blended without breaking up the tuna too much.
  5. Season: Taste the salad and season with salt and pepper as desired to enhance the flavors.
  6. Serve: Serve immediately with your favorite accompaniments such as crackers, bread, or over a bed of greens.

Notes

  • Use any crisp apple variety like Granny Smith or Fuji for best texture and flavor contrast.
  • For a lighter option, substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt.
  • Adjust mustard quantity according to your preference for tanginess.
  • This salad can be prepared ahead and chilled but is best enjoyed fresh for optimal crispness.
  • Great served as a sandwich filling or on top of mixed greens for a hearty salad.
