A refreshing and vibrant Sparkling Hibiscus Orange Mocktail, combining tangy hibiscus tea with sweet mango and citrus flavors, topped with sparkling water for a delightful, non-alcoholic beverage perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Hibiscus Tea Base

  • 2 cups water (480 ml)
  • 1/2 cup dried hibiscus flowers

Fruit and Juice Blend

  • 1 cup cubed ripe mango (fresh or thawed if frozen)
  • 1 Tbsp orange zest
  • 1 large orange, juiced (approx. 1/3 cup or 80 ml)
  • 1 Tbsp lime juice (approx. 1/2 lime or 15 ml)
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup (or agave nectar)
  • 1 cup water (240 ml)

Final Assembly

  • 4 cups sparkling water
  • 8 orange slices (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Brew the Hibiscus Tea: In a saucepan, bring 2 cups (480 ml) of water to a boil. Add the dried hibiscus flowers, cover the pan, and turn off the heat. Allow the tea to steep for at least 15 minutes to extract the vibrant flavor and color.
  2. Prepare the Fruit Blend: While the tea steeps, add 1 cup (240 ml) water, cubed mango, orange zest, freshly squeezed orange juice, lime juice, and maple syrup to a high-speed blender. Blend on high until the mixture is very smooth, ensuring a silky texture.
  3. Combine Hibiscus Tea and Fruit Blend: Once the hibiscus tea has brewed, strain out the flowers and pour the tea into the blender with the fruit mixture. Pulse once more to fully combine all flavors. Taste and adjust the sweetness by adding more maple syrup if desired.
  4. Serve the Mocktail: Pour approximately 1/2 cup (120 ml) of the juice concentrate into a glass filled with ice. Top with 1/3 to 1/2 cup (80-120 ml) sparkling water—use less sparkling water for a stronger flavor or more for a lighter drink. Garnish with an orange slice and serve immediately.
  5. Storage: Store any leftover juice concentrate in an airtight container refrigerated for up to 7 days. For longer storage, pour the concentrate into an ice cube tray and freeze.

Notes

  • Use fresh or frozen mango; thaw frozen mango before blending for best results.
  • Adjust sweetness by modifying the amount of maple syrup or agave nectar according to taste.
  • The amount of sparkling water can be varied based on preference for intensity and fizz.
  • For a visually appealing presentation, garnish each glass with a fresh orange slice.
  • This mocktail is best served chilled over ice.
  • The juice concentrate can be made ahead and used to quickly prepare drinks when needed.
