Warm and Buttery Lobster Rolls are a delightful side dish featuring succulent lobster meat sautéed in garlic butter, combined with fresh herbs and lemon juice, then served in toasted brioche buns. This recipe offers a perfect balance of rich buttery flavor and bright citrus notes, making it an irresistible treat for seafood lovers.

Ingredients

Lobster Mixture

  • 1 pound uncooked lobster meat (claws, tails, or a combination)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh chives
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • ½ lemon, juiced
  • Kosher salt and pepper, to taste

Butter and Buns

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 4 to 6 split top brioche hot dog buns, warmed or toasted
  • Lemon wedges, for spritzing

Instructions

  1. Cook Lobster: Heat 2 tablespoons of the butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat. If the lobster meat pieces are large, chop them, although leaving some in chunks is preferred. Add the lobster meat and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the lobster turns bright pink, becomes opaque, and is fully cooked through.
  2. Melt Remaining Butter and Prepare Buns: While the lobster is cooking, melt the remaining butter in a saucepan over low heat. Brush the brioche buns with butter and warm them in the oven for a few minutes until toasted and fragrant.
  3. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the cooked lobster with a pinch of kosher salt and pepper, the remaining melted butter, chopped chives, and fresh dill. Add the juice from half a lemon and toss gently to coat. Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
  4. Assemble Lobster Rolls: Divide the buttery lobster mixture evenly between 4 or 6 warmed brioche buns. Serve immediately with lemon wedges for spritzing and alongside potato chips for a classic finish.

Notes

  • For best flavor, use fresh lobster meat from claws and tails.
  • Toasting the brioche buns adds a lovely texture and enhances the buttery flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of lemon juice and herbs according to your taste preference.
  • Serve immediately for best texture; lobster rolls are best eaten fresh.
  • Pair with classic side dishes like potato chips or a crisp salad for a complete meal.
